First Course
Course 1 
This correspondence course for beginners is based on
Stano Marček's book Esperanto by Direct Method.
Esperanto is used from the beginning of the course, with clear pictures so that you can understand.
The book also has explanations in English, and word-lists.
The course includes:
- the Esperanto by Direct Method textbook
- an accompanying CD with MP3 files
- Lesson notes and exercises
This first course uses the first 10 lessons of the text book, and you
can then use the rest of the book and CD for the second course.

Because of word lists within the text book, it is not necessary to buy a dictionary to do this course.
However, correspondence course students can buy a small dictionary, McLinen's Pocket Esperanto Dictionary separately, for an additional $25.
